In late February, I decided to leave my job. I had been at my firm for 9 and a half years, and it was probably the hardest decision I’ve ever had to make. I may have shocked quite a few people when I put in my notice but, ultimately, I think that I will one day look back and say, this was one of the best decisions I ever made.
One of the main reasons for leaving was so that I could have more time for myself and my family. I promised myself that I would start reading and blogging again. I accepted a new job, gave my notice on March 9th, and then the coronavirus happened…
Needless to say, the last two months have been a whirlwind. It has taken me over two months to write my first post simply because I have not had the time to just sit and write. I wanted some change, but not this much of it. The world has changed so much in such a short period of time.
Fortunately and most importantly, I am thankful that my family is healthy and safe. My family has settled into our new normal. I don’t know if I can say my family is thriving (you should see the mess that is my house), but we are surviving. And, in light of the circumstances, I am ok with that.
My first post of 2020. I promise it will not be the last.
